I became a caregiver because I used to be very close to my grandmother when she was alive. I loved being not only her granddaughter, but a friend as well. I learned a lot about life from her, and she was like a breath of fresh air for me. Caring for her set me on my path to helping others long after she passed away. What I like best about being a caregiver is the friendship that can be procured. It is good to have the company, and makes me feel productive and needed. One of my greatest personal achievements was when I gave birth to my son Michael. I always dreamed of being a Mother and experiencing the joys that Motherhood brings. I am proud of my son and how nice of a person he grew up to be. My name is Vera and I am 55 years young lol. I have a degree in Special Education, and a certificate in Medical Assisting. I am hard working and love helping people. I have a sense of humor so watch out! However, I am serious about my job duties. I live with my Mother who is elderly. She misses my Father, and talks about him everyday. 3 years ago he passed away and I too, am still trying to get over it. My parents were my inspiration. I am so glad I was able to help my Father to the very end. I will always be there for my Mother and all the people that depend on me for companionship. That's what it's all about.
