I did home care during my fieldwork. I have experience working with clients in their homes. I love helping others and making individuals feel comfortable in their homes.

I like what I do because I used to have a disable and handicap son and he die and I decided to work in this to help the people in need if I am understand and use my experience in what I know to work to help does people in need beside my work I do voluntary job too and I am very proud for what I do I have more than 35 years experience but I don't have any license but I want to take it

I believe I'm a great caregiver because I am passionate and caring I love taking care of people and helping them anything I could do to make a person's life better makes me feel better about myself. I started in the field because I do enjoy caring for people so much. I have dealt with all kinds of people from different age ranges with a range of different issues that they may need assistance with and I have always loved doing what I'm doing and I will continue to love doing what I'm doing. I have tried other career paths and they just weren't for me and I honestly believe that caregiving and taken care of and helping people is what I was meant to do.

Being a caregiver is very special to me. It is amazing to have such a fulfilling career. It is my feel good in this sometimes crazy world. I absolutely love caring for people and taking some stress off the family. I am very dependable, caring and hardworking. I have worked in the Human Services Field for over 25 years. I have worked with Developmental Diabled individuals, was a Foster Care Service Coordinator, a counselor for children and adults in a Psychiatric Hospital, Social Worker in a Nursing Home Facility and currently work in the Medicaid NHTD & TBI Waiver Programs in upstate New York. Assisting others, that has been my goal for the past 25 years. After losing my father to Parkinson's I have spent the last 10 years working with my community's seniors; initially within a Nursing Home Facility, and currently helping seniors obtain services in the home to avoid Nursing Home Placement.

I have more than 13 years of experience working (full time) with individuals with developmental disabilities. In group, private residential, community, and classroom settings. Also in transportation. I have been told that my compassion towards them is extremely apparent. I am there for the individuals 100%. For their health and well-being but also for their quality of life. I also believe that promoting as much independence as one can have. When I have worked one-to-one or in someone's home that was where I felt I could make the most difference. I have worked in medically intensive houses as well as behavior intensive. I also worked for NYSOPWDD and am required to pass an extensive background check, which I have. I love what I do and have never been told anything other than I do it well. My heart is full when I'm caring for people. I get out of it what I put into it, if not more so. If I can make someone in my care smile, laugh or feel comfort, I feel like my day was a successful one!

I have worked around the world and have many friends and acquaintances with varying degrees of limitations and family backgrounds. I feel I am well versed in communicating and getting along with individuals of any background. I feel it is important to give our elders the feeling of being wanted and capable of living the lifestyle they are most comfortable with.
