I have extensive experience, from having provided direct patient care for assigned nursing home and hospice geriatric patients (VA), Albany County Nursing Home, The Wesley Center. In addition to direct patient care for assigned patients of the Orthopedics department (Phelps Memorial Hospital) I've aided residents with daily living tasks, monitored patients vitals and performed various other care duties. Collected and documented patient related information, medication management, as well being an advocate for them during their doctor's visits. Being able to make a difference in someone else's life attracted me to being a care giver. The instant gratification is huge in this field of work.
