About Meghan

What makes me a great caregiver is the passion i have for helping others, especially elderly or anybody who has a hard time taking care of themselves due to illness or whatever the case may be. I decided I loved doing this when my grandmother was fighting for her life, I wanted her to be as comfortable as possible. I also enjoy conversating with those who have nobody else to help them and feel lonely. My biggest accomplishment was helping a younger girl gain confidence when she was sick and losing her hair, and people would make fun of her. Now she lives life to the fullest and fights everyday. I love helping people and making them comfortable and to not think they're just wasting their lives away. Especially to those who have do not have family or have family members that are too busy or don't have the paitence anymore to deal, as we all know life does get in the way of a lot of things.

    My grandfather
Unfortunately my grandfather is a alcoholic and it has taken a toll on his health as well as losing his wife in 2014. He slowly has gone done hill since then. I was in charge of cooking meals since he would not eat, as well as grocery shopping. He has since started going blind and is showing signs of dementia, however he refuses to believe so. I would stsy and keep company so he doesnt feel alone and like hes going crazy. I also took over giving him his medication since he did not want to take it, and he needs it for depression, high blood pressure, bladder issues which I would help him in the restroom as well emptying his colostomy bag and pee bag. As well as inserting cathiters. His health is deteriorating fast. He also suffers from COPD and refuses to stop smoking.

    Grandparents and parents of friends.
Mostly suffering from depression and bipolar disease. Manic depression along with addiction. I would be in charge of grocery shopping, helping with animals, house cleaning and keeping company as well as taking them to Dr. Appointments. I also distribute medications for them as well. I have no problem with conversating as in I believe nobody should be unheard or feel lonley or like they are a burden to other. That goes for all patients.

    Mother
Suffers from bipolar depression and anxiety. I cook. Clean. Do the laundry, and take care of the animals as well as giving medication. I know all my experiences are mostly family, but I have been doing this pretty much my whole life. I would definitely be willing to help anybody in need. I'm positive I have what it takes.

    Grandparents/aunts/uncles
My grandmother was diagnosed with servere COPD and emphysema in 2006, she refused to get a lung transplant. she was put on a oxygen tank, and I was in charge of cleaning, cooking, laundry, exercises, distributing medication, as well as getting her out of the house. I loved keeping hdr company sinve she was always in the house due to not having a drivers lisence. She got so weak I helped bathe her and helped her to the restroom. Unfortunately she passed in march of 2014 when she woke up and couldn't breath. She was in the hospital for 5 months before we had to make a decision of letting her pass, which were her wishes.
