About Sandra

In April of 2011 I became a caregiver. For a decade before this date I worked with the senior community in New York City - I trained seniors in dance and fitness. My students and clients became fit and more functional than they had been in years, sometimes decades. I immensely enjoyed working with the elder community and was especially happy with the results my seniors obtained in training. My clients became more confident, as well as functional, in being able to do things they haven't done in years, whether it was reaching up over their heads, bending down, lateral bending or having more energy and feeling great. Their quality of life improved greatly. Four years ago, an opportunity arose to work as a caregiver, and I was employed by a lovely woman for over three years. Several months ago, I moved to Los Angeles and work as a freelance chef and caregiver. I have been cooking for over 20 years, and learned from the my maternal Grandmother Teresa Notte Cicchino, a Master Chef from Molise, Italy. My specialty is authentic Southern Italian cuisine. I cook the farmer's foods of Southern Italy as well as some Middle Eastern and American Cuisine. My food is healthy and delicious as I only cook with real food, herbs and spices. In addition to training seniors, I am a life-long dancer and have trained professional and amateur dancers, children, women recovering from breast and ovarian cancer and women in wheelchairs. Dance is joyful and uplifting as well as life-changing. One g

I became a caregiver because I care about the well-being of the elderly. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel good inside. I am dependable, responsible, and honored to take care of the patients I meet and have a positive impact on their lives. I have up-to-date CNA and BLS certifications. I also have 3 years' experience working with the elderly, assisting them with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting etc. I get a sense of satisfaction from helping patients feel comfortable and loved.
