I'm a very caring person who likes to help people in need specially the elderly people . I became a caregiver because I use to take care of my grand and I realize I could use the same skills to helps others her age or more . What I enjoy the most as a caregiver is to be able to care and provide help to my patient . Seeing them happy is goal .
Growing up, I watched my mother take care of both of her elderly and ill parents on her own until they passed away. I saw the emotional toll that that had on her and how great it would've been for her to have help. This personal experience is what attracted me to become a caregiver. I'm very empathetic and friendly, I also love to get to know people and learn about their life experiences which has made me a great caregiver. One personal achievement that I am proud of is working hard and accomplishing my goal of attending the #1 Fashion school in the world, The Fashion Institute of Technology. Working with patients and their families is a job like no other, I've learned so much and it has helped me grow tremendously as a person.
I became a caregiver because I like caring for people that can no longer care for themselves the way that they would like to, be it for health reasons or etc. I like knowing that I am making their lives easier and making them feel better about themselves, avoiding any insecurities about their limitations. A personal achievement that I am proud of is knowing that in such little time I made a difference to many of my patients...I worked for a month at a nursing home facility and they all asked me to stay because no one had taken care of them like I had and I see this as an achievement. About myself, I am 44 years old. I have 4 kids. I acquired my CNA license in 2014 and I love the field I am in. I am a very caring and dependable individual. I am bilingual in Spanish. I also have my CPR certificate that was recently acquired in 2015.
My expertise in caring for the aged is my patience, love, empathy, trustworthliness and flexibility makes me stand out in this field of care. My grandmother inspires me to be a great caregiver. When she was sick, i accompany her to the hospital, wash her clothes, cook for her and made sure im there when she needed me. The excitement and joy she had on her face when im with her makes me proud that at least i made her happy before she died. When caring for the aged i have the empathy because i feel like caring for my grandmother and to make someone feel happy means me feel good that my grandmother will be happy wherever she is. Being a caregiver is full of ups and downs but it has a great influence on my relationship with others. When a loved one whether they are of a sound mind or not deserve to be treated with love, needs attention and this is a priceless gift

To be a great Care giver. you have to have a loving and caring heart and attitude,be patience, be a good listener, attentive and observant. For some Clients speak with their body and not with their voice, You have to be able to understand body language. I became a care giver, because I love caring for older people, starting with my Grand parents and then my parent, and other relatives,
I always liked to help people since I was a child. My grandmother brought me a child doctor kit and my family were all my patients even while they were asleep. I like to meet people and learn new things. I took a customer service class while in college. I am a team player. I took a nurse aide course in 1999 and my license is still current. I have taken a medical assisting course and received my Associate's Degree in 2009. My grandmother and mother had encouraged me to go to school and get certified like my mother. They were my supporters. My grandmother and mother let me practice all I learned with and my grandmother most times on her. My grandmother became ill and that was more of a push for me because I didnt understand the things my grandmother was going through. So I pushed harder for school and she fought harder to push me through. She died a little after I had passed my state exam. I just wanted to quit but I remembered my grandmother and the hardwork we did together. I pushed on after my grandmother died. My mother died and I decided to go to LPN school. My personal achievement I never thought of that. But if I had to think of 1, I would say it would the drive withing myself to not quit at my dreams and goals.
