What makes me a good caregiver is I am young, kind, caring, and I have a lot of patience. I enjoy helping others who are in need of help. A good caregiver is able to assist families the best that they can and take some of the stress off of their daily schedule. I became a caregiver because I am currently in the work field. I've work for Cerebral Palsy of Westchester for 3 years. It is a non-profit organization. My position held was a Habilitation Assistant. I have experience working with individuals with a wide variety of disabilities providing direct care with their hygiene needs and daily living. I am now a Care Manager for Care Design NY. I assist developmentally and intellectually delayed adults and their families with obtaining services of their interest. I also have experience with working with people privately needing in home assistance with daily living and companionship.
