I find satisfaction helping people. I'm reliable, energetic, enthusiastic and not judgmental. I started volunteering for hospice and found I enjoyed it. I was a caregiver for my dad who had a lot of physical problems and dementia. I'm proud that I work with Hospice and that our family has a registered C501 not for profit charitable foundation. We help families in need. I also did home health care for 2 yrs. in my community. I have been an alcohol and substance counselor for the past 2 yrs. There are virtually no jobs in this area available presently and the number is vastly declining. The changes this yr. to NY State Medicaid looks as it will decimate the number of substance abuse facilities continuing to operate. Especially in- patient. I would like to do home health care full time and substance abuse counseling 1 day per wk.
