I am a social worker and have been for 30 years. I began working with seniors when my dad went into a nursing home and I got the opportunity to meet a lot of the friends he had made there. I began working with seniors in the community and enjoyed it immensely! I love helping people and I love listening to stories of people's life experiences. I wanted to help more, so I joined the Alzheimer's Association. Then I began working as a care giver for an agency. The pay was very low, but I so much enjoyed what I did. After 6 months, I was promoted to Field Care Manager. this meant that I supervised and supported the care givers and provided case management to clients and their families. I adored my job!!!!!! Unfortunately, my agency was unable to attain a license to provide personal care in NY State, so I was laid off. I loved what I did so much and wanted to continue providing services to seniors through direct care giving and/or case management. I now provide services to seniors independently. I am a middle aged woman with two grown children who are each married, a grand son who is about to turn five, a granddaughter who is 4 months old , and my dog (Puggle) whom I love with all my heart.. I love animals so much!!! In addition to being a mental health professional, I am a crafts person and spend lots of time making and selling crafts. I am a very easy going person and compassionate and caring. I go out of my way to do what I can for others. I love to laugh and tell stories. I'm an excellent listener.
