I am a retired Geriatric and Hospice Nurse with over 25 years of providing loving care to the elderly. I am compassionate, dedicated and devoted to those entrusted to my care. I am seeking a position in private duty nursing for an elderly person who is in need of companionship, transportation, medication management, socialization with mental stimulation activities with personal care or nursing care needs. I am Certificated in Spiritual Direction. I love elderly people, reading, laughing, music, and great conversation while honoring their dignity and meaning in life as they age in place. Your family member will be in good professional care when we are together. My hours are flexible and an occasional overnight is available.

I truly believe that care giving is my calling in life. I have spent 20+ years as an Administrative Assistant in the corporate world and for small companies. I started my career as a caregiver on a part-time basis and fell in love with the work. I knew that I was comfortable with the elderly at a young age, as they were always in my life. I am passionate about taking care of them, listening to what they have to say and making a difference in their life. I am a nurturer by nature and it is important to me to now share that gift with those who need it most. I am the youngest of nine (9) children so I have always taken care of my siblings children, my nieces and nephews. I have received precious memories and fulfillment from taking care of them. I my group of friends, I am always the one "taking care of things and everyone." That is just my nature. What I enjoy most about care giving is knowing that I helped someone and I was an ear to listen to them and take interest in them. I love to listen to what an elderly person has to say because I learn SO much from them. One of my patients required blood sugar readings and insulin. I learned how to administer both and I am quite proud of the fact that I have that knowledge and skill.
