About Treasa

Caring for others is my passion. One that I love waking up to do. I knew from an early age that I wanted to care for others. My mothers had a tracheostomy when I was just 6 years old and I would help her clean it, then later she suffered from multiple mini-strokes and illness for years. I grew up helping others so when I was able to pick my career there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to continue and help care for others. I love waking up everyday knowing I have the chance to help someone. Personal achievements are different for everyone. I have many, everyday at work I achieve something new. Most of the time it does not even pertain to myself. It is usually involving a patient of mine and what they achieve in their healing process. Taking care of a patient for a long period of time they become your family. So each step they take to getting better we celebrate together.

    I became a caregiver after I had quit my job to become a caregiver for my mother who was suffering with terminal cancer. She passed away, but the quality time we were able to share while I was caring for her is so precious to me. Then I began to realize how important it is to give unconditional love and empathy to anyone who is suffering with an illness or the negative effects of living their senior years alone. I began to realize that we all will come to that stage in our life and having someone who truly cares about your well-being and helps you with a loving heart will make all the difference in the world! I enjoy being a caregiver because it is gratifying to "give back" I also like the fact that at the end of the day "I made a difference" in their life (even if they won't remember me the next day?!) My greatest achievement is the raising of my two children who have grown up to be successful independent adults. They both have a confidence and drive to do anything they set their mind to do. Makes me very proud! One thing I can share about myself is that while I was growing up, my sister and I would go to my Grandmother's house which she converted into a boarding home for the elderly. We would help her with various things such as, helping prepare meals, serving food, entertaining the guest, (like playing cards with them, putting on skits, singing, etc.) I have great memories of that time and realize as an adult what a great heart my grandmother had for helping the elderly.
