I love visiting with my patients, you can learn so much about them and their lives and that gives you a better sense of the care needed and things they enjoy doing.I had private duty assignment with a 89 young lady, we had the best conversations and that helped me to get to know her better and also for her to get to know me better
Skills & Certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Medical Assistant (MA)
Thought that I wanted to retire then realised I missed working, I don't want to stop working. When people who know me find out I want to go back to work they always suggest I go back into caregiving. I like to help people, I see the importance of treating each person who needs assistance in a special way. I treat each client the way I would want someone to treat my parent or family member. I feel that most individuals are not happy about needing help, so you have to make them feel spoiled and appreciated and respected, and keep their information private, that is what I do for a client.
I am a born caretaker with 6 years of nursing experience specializing in compassionate care to patients with intellectual disabilities, special needs and seniors. I enjoy one on one companionship and showing my patients they are important and treating them with respect and dignity. I am proud of my integrity and my passion for being a caretaker!
I've worked for an elderly woman the past 4 1/2 years. I prepare one main meal of the day. Cleaning, medicine reminder, transportation, shopping are all my responsibility. When guests were in the home, I served them to make them feel welcome. I work Monday thru Friday 9am to 1pm, with overtime as needed
I am a great caregiver because I go up and beyond of what is expected of me. I was a caregiver to a young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for 3 years. He is on a ventilator full time to help him breath and a g-tube so he can eat. I have experience with just about anything and I'm willing to do anything to help my client/patient out.
I watched my Grandpa battle dementia for 7 long years until I lost him a year ago, today ironically. I'm avid on learning more, helping anyone who has it, to not feel alone. I also worked in a home with 8 individuals with impairments. I'm an advocate on mental health, I want to comfort anyone who feels alone. I know what dementia can do, what the effects are on the family.
I have been a caregiver for my current family for four years. I enjoy spending time with the couple and I enjoy making sure they enjoy the meals I prepare. I have always loved helping others. I proud that when the husband suddenly died the family insisted that he stay and manage the household and be their for thier mother.
