Hi there, I have been working as a caregiver or Med Tech for about 16 years. First person I every cared for was my grandmother, it was the hardest but most fulfilling thing I ever did. The hardest thing in life is watching a loved one decline and pass away. But the thing I learned I was really good at compassion and providing care. its definitely easier caring for non family members. I love providing assistance with care, because you are not only helping with he physical you are also helping with the emotional care. Some of the best people I have met in this world have been some of my residents. So much history they all have, and you can learn so much and enjoy listening to there stories, I feel I benefit just as much as they do. This is by no means an easy job, and not everyone can do it either. I am happy I am able to provide care to others when it is needed.
