Hello my name is Amanda. I'm very fun, outgoing and happy person. I love to see an make others smile an really enjoy themselves. I truly believe that happiness makes all the difference in people. I knew I wanted to become a caregiver after going through my son's medical history. When he was born he was in the hospital for 9 months. He had surgery and everything went wrong. I took many classes so that I could be hands on with his care as much as possible. He pulled through and it made me want to continue to grow and learn so I could care for others and be the difference in there world and another reason to smile. I know I can't change a person's medical history or make it go away but what I can do is bring light and happiness to someone and hopefully make them love life and have a positive outlook on life and enjoy the little things that we still have. I love to be creative an find new adventures that fit the residents needs and wants that they love to do. That could be a stroll around the neighborhood, going to watch a live casting of their favorite news station or just watching a movie with lots of snacks. I have many personal achievements im proud of but my son, Michael, is by far the one I'm most proud of! Hes grown into an AMAZING and loving 11 year old boy. He has come to work with me many times and loves to play games, cook with the resident an just hang out. The residents I have cared for in the past become much more then a job an more of friends/family. When you care for someone so closely you create a bond and that bond/trust is very important to me and the person I care for.
