About Joseph

I grew up on a very tiny island in the pacific called Tinian. I was raised to treat every individual with dignity and respect. I am very patient and I believe that it takes a very special individual to work as a caregiver. I started off as a caregiver at Avamere. I would say the achievement I'm most proud off is being able to grow with the company as a medication aide. However, I am still a glorified caregiver. I feel accomplished inside knowing I put a smile in our resident's faces to best of my abilities. I enjoy being apart of team that show our residents true love and loyalty that I am capable of giving. I enjoy having meaningful conversations with residents and hearing their life stories. I learn a lot about life. I could say I found my niche when I became a caregiver. I have a passion for helping people. I am very goal-driven person and I will not stop putting in all the effort into my job to get it done.

Keep records of resident's details and medications. Monitor vitals for those who are on alert charting and report of any changes to the facility RN and his or her primary care physician. I also assist care staff with providing care to our residents such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.

I am passionate about caring for people so they can stay in their own homes as long as possible. It means a lot to them and their families to keep things as routine and familiar, change is very hard and stressful. I was once a care giver for two ladies. They were keeping their husbands at home and doing all personal cares for them and trying to keep up the household as well. Both had alzheimer's. I went to their homes as needed, once or twice a week so they could get out and do fun things. I always reminded them how important it was to take good care of them selves as well. It was so rewarding to have them appreciate and trust me to care for their loved one, to allow them a well earned break. I also cared for an elderly lady in her home for over two years, she and her husband both had Alzheimers and each had their own personal assistant/caregiver. It was my pleasure to be a part of her life!
