I became a caregiver at a young age my grandparents were living alone so at 16 I started cooking cleaning and helping them with care. It just came natural. As more family members and friends needed me it became a career. I've done in-home care many years also took CNA courses. I love people. My heart is big and it shows in my work . What attracted me to being a caregiver would be my parents with my mother having multiple hernia replacements, and my father being a dialysis patient, on top of ongoing health conditions far as diabetes etc. What I enjoy about being a caregiver is that I'm able to help someone who isn't capable of preforming their daily task on their own, knowing that I am capable with my skills and ability to provide to someone who is in need makes me nothing but honored. What makes me a good caregiver is i like to sit down and listen to the individual and the family to find out their concerns and fears and how they want things to be. I respect all rights and will not over step my boundary. I'm a good listener and companion. I became a care giver after taking care of my grandma while she battled with cancer. It was a hard and emotional time but after she passed. I learned that we became closer and during that hard time we also had many good times. So in the end results i became a care giver to become a companion and to help others when help is needed.
