I became a cna because my great grandma who raised me became a diabetic and had to have both of her legs amputated. I was around 11or 12. She learned how to walk with new prostetics and her walker. Also I had to administer her insulin at times. She passed shortly after I turned 18. I dedicated my life to her.

I have worked as a care for over 20 years. I enjoy caring for my residents. It's so rewarding. There is nothing more that's gives me the passion to wake up every day and put a smile on the residents face.

( completed all 4 Covid vaccinations on 4/15/22 ) Registered Nurse for 26 yrs- ER, Surgery, Hospice, Home Health, now retired. Case manager for home care agencies for 7 yrs, I now offer private consultation as well as hands on care for Activities of Daily Living, Companionship, etc. I am very familiar with elder care/memory care, Including but not limited to, Dementia/Alzheimer's. I am also familiar with Parkinson's disease and medications. Extensive experience with catheters, feeding tubes, Hoyer lifts, etc. I have lots of experience with end of life care. I can offer training/education to caregivers and/or family. I can attend doctor appointments to keep Health Care Team and family informed. I can handle medication administration, reminders, refills, etc. I will monitor for medication efficacy/ overall condition and contact MD if any issues arise. 1. What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I love the job I do; which is providing care for people in need as I would care for myself or expect others to care for me. I don't belong to the class of caregivers who believe they are not being payed enough for this job. I love caregiving with all my heart, body and soul. 2. I became a caregiver after seeing my mom providing everyday care for my grandpa. Later on I came across an ad looking for caregivers in a retirement home; right there I realized I could provide help/care for the elderly and sick who needed it most. It was completely born out of compassion for people who needed care but have no one to care for them like my mom cared for my grandpa. 3. There is no satisfaction greater than putting smiles on the face of people who can't offer you anything other than gratitude. Seeing my residents and their families happy after providing care for them is such a great feeling. I love the fact that I can make them feel loved and protected. 4. My achievements as a caregiver are too many to count. On several occasions I have detected early signs of stroke amongst my residents even when my coworker and supervisors doubted me; but on all occasions, paramedics and doctors on arrival always congratulate me for detecting those signs. Being able to avert an imminent threat to the life of my residents is fulfilling.

What makes me a good caregiver would be I'm very compassionate I'm honest caring loving and I love to help people what push me into the medical field I volunteered for a year-and-a-half with my grandmother until she moved to Sacramento and I like what I did so I went and got my CNA I'm a certified CNA and that's the accomplishment that I am most proud about

I have worked in the healthcare field the past 4 years; I absolutely love it. I have worked in a group home, ISL(individual supported living), nursing homes and psychiatric hospital, ages ranging from 3-100. I worked as a CNA at the nursing home, helping with bathing, grooming, transfers, toileting, changing and person hygiene. In the ISL, I worked with disabled clients, helping with their everyday need. I would provide transportation, assist with house cleaning, administrating meds, personal hygiene and community skills. I Thoroughly enjoy working in the healthcare field and plan to attend college to get my RN degree. After graduation I would like to become a behavioral health nurse. I love being able to help people with things that they are no longer able to do.

I became a caregiver because of 2 main reasons. 1st is I believe that being a caregiver brings spiritual treasures that will not spoil or be taken away. As a hospice aid for 7 years I realized that we or our spirit belongs to a place where we will no longer suffer. 2nd I always pray for my time when my body also become old and fragile. When that time comes I will also like to be treated the same way I treated my client, with respect, compassion and care. The thing I like about caregiver is the joy that I get after the client passes away and hear from family and friends that I have done a good job. The personal achievement that I can say was from my last case with a couple in Los Altos where the husband died. I was live-in for five days and at the final days of the client I remained with him all night and called the children early in the morning to come and say their final respect to their Father. Hi my name is Ana Espinoza I been a care giver about 7 years already I worked for IHSS When I was young and what made me go back to care giving was I like making them smile making them have a nice day I have 2 children and I work as a house keeper too on my days off I'm loving confident on what I have to do with my clients friendly and caring .in what I'm proud of is that on there last days of one of my client was peaceful no pain and had all my attention got a lot of love from his family members that I know I did a great job
