I have worked as a care for over 20 years. I enjoy caring for my residents. It's so rewarding. There is nothing more that's gives me the passion to wake up every day and put a smile on the residents face.

1. What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I love the job I do; which is providing care for people in need as I would care for myself or expect others to care for me. I don't belong to the class of caregivers who believe they are not being payed enough for this job. I love caregiving with all my heart, body and soul. 2. I became a caregiver after seeing my mom providing everyday care for my grandpa. Later on I came across an ad looking for caregivers in a retirement home; right there I realized I could provide help/care for the elderly and sick who needed it most. It was completely born out of compassion for people who needed care but have no one to care for them like my mom cared for my grandpa. 3. There is no satisfaction greater than putting smiles on the face of people who can't offer you anything other than gratitude. Seeing my residents and their families happy after providing care for them is such a great feeling. I love the fact that I can make them feel loved and protected. 4. My achievements as a caregiver are too many to count. On several occasions I have detected early signs of stroke amongst my residents even when my coworker and supervisors doubted me; but on all occasions, paramedics and doctors on arrival always congratulate me for detecting those signs. Being able to avert an imminent threat to the life of my residents is fulfilling.

I have worked in the healthcare field the past 4 years; I absolutely love it. I have worked in a group home, ISL(individual supported living), nursing homes and psychiatric hospital, ages ranging from 3-100. I worked as a CNA at the nursing home, helping with bathing, grooming, transfers, toileting, changing and person hygiene. In the ISL, I worked with disabled clients, helping with their everyday need. I would provide transportation, assist with house cleaning, administrating meds, personal hygiene and community skills. I Thoroughly enjoy working in the healthcare field and plan to attend college to get my RN degree. After graduation I would like to become a behavioral health nurse. I love being able to help people with things that they are no longer able to do.

I became a caregiver because of 2 main reasons. 1st is I believe that being a caregiver brings spiritual treasures that will not spoil or be taken away. As a hospice aid for 7 years I realized that we or our spirit belongs to a place where we will no longer suffer. 2nd I always pray for my time when my body also become old and fragile. When that time comes I will also like to be treated the same way I treated my client, with respect, compassion and care. The thing I like about caregiver is the joy that I get after the client passes away and hear from family and friends that I have done a good job. The personal achievement that I can say was from my last case with a couple in Los Altos where the husband died. I was live-in for five days and at the final days of the client I remained with him all night and called the children early in the morning to come and say their final respect to their Father. And surely it was his last day and the children was so appreciative of it. Just a quote from his recommendation letter "It is my absolute pleasure to write this recommendation letter. Hi my name is Ana Espinoza I been a care giver about 7 years already I worked for IHSS When I was young and what made me go back to care giving was I like making them smile making them have a nice day I have 2 children and I work as a house keeper too on my days off I'm loving confident on what I have to do with my clients friendly and caring .in what I'm proud of is that on there last days of one of my client was peaceful no pain and had all my attention got a lot of love from his family members that I know I did a great job

Being able to assist somebody gives me great satisfaction. I have been working as a certified NURSING assistant for 9 years, in a skilled NURSING facility. Working with charge nurses and other health team members ,helped me to improve and acquire skills needed to assist residents with their activities of daily living.

I became a Care Giver because I love helping others In their daily living activities. Love to see the gratitude expression on their faces, and for the residents to know and feel that I'm here for them to know that they are not alone. I know that making the decision of becoming a care giver has been the best choice of my life, because I love what I do, love to know that out there, somewhere the're are a lot of seniors who need assistance, and care in so many different ways, but the're may not be that many care givers who are willing to help them, so for me it's an honor and a privilege to to be considered to assist any resident or loved one with their ADLs. I am very responsible out going team player flexible with hours willing travel. I'm very careful at what I do, learn quickly. I'm very compassionate trustful, loyal. I am 35 years old, also I am a fast learner. I have had experience with Special Education for 13 years at The Monterey County Office of Education. For the last two years, I have been in college in order to obtain a new career set as an Occupational Therapist. I feel that due to my history of experience in providing compassionate care for individuals (children), I would like to give this a try. I come from a family of nurses and I am willing to learn. I have medical training in tracheotomy, breathing tubes, and CPR/First Aid. I have an exemplary history of dependability in attendance, and I am a compassionate companion.
