Hello! My name is Kim. I have been a caregiver for 30 years, having taken off time while my daughter was in high school. I have an extensive amount of experience ranging from cancers to dementias to end of life and so much more. I would be happy to share. I am also an advocate, friend and offer support for both the patient and family. The expectations and standards I set for myself are: 1) Dignity and respect 2) When I walk into someone's home, I'm walking into their world. I dont expect them to walk into mine. Its about them and their needs. 3) Everyone is an individual. Same diagnosis does not mean the same kind of care. My care is based on the individual and their wants and needs. 4) Patience and being a great listener. How else will I know what is needed and wanted. I have provided care for many people. I have been working in home care for over 6 years. I have done everything from bathing, transferring, range of motion, g tube feeding, medications, laundry/ cleaning, trac cleaning, catheter etc. I love to help other in need. I enjoy meeting new clients and helping families lives easier by helping in their homes. I am a mom of two little girls and being a mom brings me joy.

During my tenure as a senior caregiver, I provided home health care for an elderly man with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy body dementia. My responsibilities included: light housework, enrichment activities, keeping patient active, preparing meals, reading to patient, helping them around the house, providing companionship, keeping track of appointments, driving to and from appointments, distributing medication, and feeding my patient. I am very passionate about the well-being of the individuals I care for. What makes me a great caregiver or CNA is my passion for helping people when they need it most or when others wouldn't want to help them. What attracted me to being a CNA is the care and being able to make someone's day great. What i enjoy most about being a CNA is building a relationship with my clients and showing them the way they deserve to be treated as a person. I am a very energetic, hard working and personable caretaker with a very outgoing personality and genuine care and concern for others. I feel I was blessed with the gift of caretaker. I truly enjoy taking care of others. It comes so natural to me and I care for others as I would if they were my own family members. I was attracted to being a caregiver when I was asked to assist with the housekeeping and bathing duties of an elderly neighbor who had diabetes and a leg amputated at the knee. Just my arrival and presence there made his day a bit more meaningful and he, as well as I, enjoyed the conversations we had. I enjoy everything equally in caregiving of others.
