I love caring for the elderly and disabled but most importantly want them to feel good about themselves. Just want them to know they matter still.

Being a caregiver has always been a passion of mine starting back in high school. I started as a CNA for many years, eventually going back to school for more training and completing the LPN course. I continue to provide caregiver services to many families in Vero Beach. CPR/First aid certified. Flexible hours and days.

have been in the health care field for over 20 years plus. I am a Pharmacy/IV Technician, Medical Assistant and Medical Office Manager. Although I enjoyed my "work", the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences were the relationships I made with my patients. I have also worked in home health and have cared for patients that have had strokes, dementia and cancer. My passion is making each and every one of my patients know that I respect them as a person, I value their life experiences, where they came from and the wisdom they have gained over the years. My personality is always extremely cheerful, positive and upbeat and it is contagious! I looked forward to seeing and interacting with them and they with me! My dad had Alzheimer's and I assisted in his care and managed his medical care until his death. I was his voice when he no longer had one. Over the years I have also helped take care of grandparents and other family members. This gave me the experience and ignited the fire and passion I have for elder care, I am their biggest "cheerleader" and best friend but also know how to encourage and be firm when it is tied directly to their medical well being!

I have been a Certified Medical assistant for 28 years I have specialized in Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Ear, Nose and Throat. I enjoy being around other people and being able to help them with their needs. It gives me great pleasure and joy when I'm able to make others feel better. I was a caregiver for my father for many years and I feel that that experience coupled with my medical assisting experience has made me more empathetic to people's situations.

The thing I enjoy the most of being a caregiver is when u see the improvement in your client wellbeing and know that your apart of that improvement. My personal achievement is that I do my job to the best of my ability when I'm with a client and the confidence and comfort I can contribute to the family member.

I have been caring for my Mother, who is 86 and has dementia, and her husband, who is 96 years old and a WW II Veteran, for over a year now. So patience is my best virtue. Driving calm without speeding, and walking through stores at a slower pace are fine by me. And making it to Dr and medical appointments without stress. Being kind is the best medicine for the soul.

After high school I worked with children for 8 years in group homes and in a psychiatric hospital before discovering Occupational Therapy. For the last 11+ years I have worked in skilled nursing facilities working with older adults with disabilities as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to increase their independence with meaningful activities. I enjoy making a positive impact in peoples lives by providing encouragement and love using humor in my work. I recently moved from Maine to Florida and am licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, with a current NBCOT certification.
