I am a responsible, dependable, compassionate , and hardworking individual. I hold a strong work ethic and always strive to do my best in any work situation. In my professional career I have always focused on direct patient care and supporting the integrity, dignity, and privacy of my patients. My attributes in patient care include: feeding, toileting, bathing, ADLs, grooming, diabetes accu check, ambulating, transferring, hoyer lifts, positioning/repositioning, non-ambulatory care, stroke deficits, dementia, post surgery care, providing clean and safe environment. I began my career as a certified occupational therapy assistant. I helped the elderly to improve their independence in dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, and more. I worked on strengthening activities, range of motion and breathing techniques. Issued adaptive equipment if necessary, as well as worked with Stroke pts, hip fractures, and many more.
I stopped working in the field to be a stay at home mom. I've since gotten divorced, and have been a nanny for a year for an infant who just turned 1.
I also took care of my mother-in-law when she developed cancer and took care of her in my home until she was admitted into hospice.
I have a strong passion for helping the elderly. I find them interesting, knowledgeable, funny and kind.
I am raising my 2 girls, ages 6 and 16. I love children as well. I am trying to provide a better life for them. And I hope to someday renew my license as a therapist.
