Am also a mother of three grownup kids and my middle kid an active marine who has served for 12 years now. He liked the way I did my job, go to school and take care of my home with my mom and grand baby. Am now taking a break from school after gtraduating in 2019. I like care giving especially to our seniors because they have served us when they were young and now is the time for us to serve them. I like shearing with them old stories of their past and important dates in their lives they never forget to celebrate. I am happiest and most fulfilled while caring for others. I fell in love with nursing in 1978 when I started my first job as a Nursing Assistant. I found that I was not only doing a job, I was caring for a person with an extensive life history that I could learn from. People who had family who loved them but were no longer able to care for them. I went on to get my LPN in 1986 and finally RN in 2012. I have provided care in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Centers, private care in homes, Home Care through agencies and have cared for my patients and their families with integrity and compassion. Aging parents have caused me to reevaluate the need for flexibility and the availability to now also provide care for them. This means the typical nursing block schedule is no longer a good fit for my families needs. I will continue to provide compassionate care for others but it will look different than it has in the past.
