Hi! My name is Judith but you can call me Judy if you like. I have been a full-time caregiver since 2012, and I am so fortunate that I am paid to do what I love! The thought rose up in me when my mother began to show signs of Dementia. We developed a bond that was very close and comforting for both of us. Since then every client is family and every challenge is so worth it! I think I was born to be a caregiver. I think that trust is the most important aspect of my profession. I have learned to be rigorous about making sure things are always where you put them. I don't look in cupboards or drawers unless I have permission to do so. If a client has faith in me they will exercise and eat and walk more readily. I am certified CMA (I am able to pass medications legally) and up to date on my CPR and First Aid Certifications. I think I am most proud (and grateful) for my ability to make clients feel protected and valued.

I started as a residential aide and to now I am a certified nursing assistant, certified medicine tech, and a restorative nursing assistant. I absolutely love what I do and don't see myself in any other career field. I plan to continue my education and go for my registered nursing degree in the near future. Ive worked in long term care facilities pretty much my entire working life and would like to experience in home care as well. Was a Correctional Officer in Illinois for over 20 years. Worked with inmates with a variety of physical and mental issues.

I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!
