I am a compassion and patient and as a caregiver, I am always ready for any change and I have an understanding of what clients is going through. I am a good listener, trustworthy and very dependable caregiver. Since I have been a caregiver, I feel like my client are part of my family, I feel good when I help/ assist them with what they use to do and cannot do it any more. I am proud to know that at the end of the day I did my best to change someone's life and I am appreciated.

I first became a caregiver in 1989, taking care of my foster grandmother. I was with her until her last breath in 1992. From there I took care of my son who was terminally ill with brain cancer. He passed in Nov. of 1993. I started working Home Health as an attendant in 2001 with Oxford in Joplin and then with Independent Living. I moved to another state and worked as Dietary Manager for an Assisted Living facility. My dad became ill in 2009 so moved back to Joplin to care for him and went to work for Independent Living Center from 2010- 2014. I worked taking care of my father fulltime from 2015- 2017 when he passed. I am a go getter done gal who loves working with the elderly or any age needed. I have not worked since Sept of 2017 when Rheumatoid Arthritis took control of me. I would love to work part time preferring the afternoons and or evenings. Mornings are hard for me until medicine kicks in and movement begins.(humor) I am able to do most tasks except heavy lifting, and tight gripping. I love working and miss it so but physical labor all day is impossible for me I am sad to say. Would love to prove that I can carry on with meal prep, household duties, bathing, and numerous other tasks. I am very personable, and compassionate.

I possess more than thirteen years of progressive experience in the Health Care field. Working with patients and specified seniors may be a difficult task for some but I do not find anything more challenging and enjoyable than making life easier for someone who has gained wisdom but lost control of physical and mental amenities. I have hands on experience in assisting individuals with disabilities and special needs. I have also had great success in developing and maintaining productive relationships with patients and their families to ensure smooth rehabilitation. I am certified in BSL and I will follow all proper procedures in emergency situations.

I became a caregiver because it gave me a sense of life accomplishment, I wasn't doing it as just another job. I love talking to my residents and engaging in learning new things. I am a very laid back person and I have noticed a lot of my patients appreciate that about me. My biggest achievement in life is overcoming stage four grey-area lymphoma. I had grey area which meant that I had Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin at the same time. But I overcame it I have been doing care now for almost 5 years.

I am a very friendly and caring person. I've always enjoyed helping people and I am a very outgoing person. I was drawn to the job because I saw it as a good life experience and it is something I have enjoyed doing before. I enjoy getting to hear different stories that they have to tell as well as what they have been through. I am proud of who I have grown into and what I have accomplished in my schooling and in life.
