I believe what makes me a great caregiver is the experience I have. I have 5 years experience working for an agency and independently. I have significant experience with hospice care, dementia, Alzheimers , Parkinson's, COPD, cancers, companion care and the general everyday care of those that can't do things for themselves anymore like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and showers. I always keep medical books in the homes of my clients/patients. On every shift I always take blood pressure , temperature and oxygen so that Vitals can be monitored regularly for any changes. The medical books will keep logs of daily living such as any Dr appointments, mood changes, medications, vitals, daily diet and activities. It's important to catch/detect any change in health. Communication is big with me on keeping everyone on the same page so that the best care can be given at all times. I'm a registered health care aid, . CPR/First Aide certified. I became a health care aide because I believe our loved ones get better care at home from one on one care opposed to a nursing home.

I started out with helping take care of my grandmother while she was sick with cancer when I was younger, from then I moved on to helping others. I love helping others with things so they can still feel independent!

I am a loving and caring person that takes helping others in their homes seriously. I believe people belong in their homes with their families especially eight now with the way COVID is.

What makes me a great caregiver I've learned to hear & listen as well have compassion. All my teen age life I wanted to care for elderly & children, I started working with individuals with develop disabilities ages range 18yrs - 70yrs, I thought to myself this is great later I came across working with senior citizens my heart, soul and mind was complete I found my goal this has been a passion and hearts desire. what I love most about being a care giver is being there physically, mentally, spiritually to comfort to have an ear and hand to help make another client day better than the day before. My personal achievement I'm proud of knowing that I made another persons day.

I have been in the health field for over 13+ years, I've worked at a nursing home throughout college. Went to LPN school (still have to sit boards) My most recent employer was a 74 year young lady with Parkinson's. I worked with her for 10 years. I was what she called her "Girl Friday" I did everything from medication reminders and dispensing, to hiring aides, payroll, care for her cats, ran errands, shopped for her, brought her to all appointments, Cooked for her, house cleaning, bathing, dressing, toileting and companionship ( we were incredibly close) I am a very dependable and reliable caregiver. I am kind, caring and considerate. I love taking care of the elderly. I can truly say I am good at what I do, and take enormous pride in my care.

My favorite thing about being a caregiver is seeing them feel comfortable and smile when I am caring for them & attending to what they may not be able to do themselves. One my personal achievements I am proud of is, getting my CNA in 2020 & my CPR in 2022.

I love my job, I love caring for people and I enjoy there stories, and to be there for someone knowing if it's a smile a day or week it's well worth it. To see them enjoy life. The way they should . I like being outside, shopping, cooking, learning the old ways and other peoples ways, gardening, baking, and also doing crafts.

I have been a Home Health Aide for I believe 4 yes could be alittle longer I started doing this in 2016 I believe .I went to school for medical ended up doing this .I love the people I take care of they are so sweet. I want to do this part time for now on weekends and hopefully I can go to 40 hours if that's possible. I will be going in for surgery june 28th ill be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks from what my doctor is telling me .

I'm a mother of two kids, one boy and one girl. I spend most of my days with my kids. I enjoy working with patients who need a companion in their live. I mostly enjoy helping patients with Alzheimer's, I find them to be the most amazing people to talk to. I enjoy talking about their past and their memories. My goal is to achieve my nursing degree and move to help as much people as I can.
