I love the interaction, the closeness and the level of respect I can give as an outsider. I have plenty of references. I am skilled with Medicare insurance and DME companies to get supplies so patients don't have to pay out of pocket so they can get what they need to stay home. I have worked with doctors and agencies to get care that is needed. My patients become family and I take care of them as such. I have worked with loved ones that have Alzheimer's, Dementia, ALS, and everything in between. I am very good at my job and I do very much take a lot of stress off the family members. I I am very good at my job and care deeply for the people I take care and treat them as I would my own. I have always made sure I am worth what I make. I care about everybody, and try too help out as many people as possible. It brings a smile too my face when I see others smile, and i know I'm doing everything I can too make that person comfortable and happy. What I really love about being a caregiver is the conversations I have with the elderly. Hearing about their life, and diffrent expirences they went through sometimes are life changing. Just getting too know them and knowing I'm helping someone makes me happy. One of the achievements I'm proud of is passing my TNA classes & getting a certificate. That made my day.

(2) Why did I become a caregiver: When i was in my early twenties I had got a job in activities in a Nursing Facility and realized this was my passion. Then became a Cna/ Gna. I enjoy caring for others. (3) What do I like about being a caregiver: I like being a caregiver because it makes me feel good to know that I'm having a positive impact caring for someone .

I became a caregiver because I am a compassionate , kind person who believes that anyone going through a tough journey deserves to have the best of care by someone who cares . I find the greatest reward in my job is meeting people who matter , and can offer as much to me as i can to them. I believe i learn from every person ive ever cared for. I am most proud of having every person ive ever cared for like the person i am and be leased with the care i have given them. I have gone through knowing hard journeys in life because my own child was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 10 yrs. After helping take care of my oldest sister before she passed away I found that it is very rewarding to assist those who need help with daily needs. I love to motivate people; I had a client who would separate himself from the group, after finding out some of his interest I was able to get him to engage and socialize with others. Hi my name is Katiy pronounced Katie but with a Y. Yes it's different. I am 30 years old almost 31 and a single parent of a 14 year old girl. Yes I was young but it made me grow up and mature and be responsible at a young age and it molded me into the person I am today. I'm originally from Cumberland MD. I have been living in littlestown PA since June 2021 so I'm still getting familiar with the area so thank goodness for GPS. I am a happy outgoing person who tries to look at the positive in every situation. I was raised by my grandmother be herself who passed in 2009 from cancer. Well she decided she didn't want to pass in the hospital and wanted to be home so we hired hospice. I also decided I would move back in with her and take care or her like she did me. And I did. The sicker she got I changed her and bathed her and took care of the house and dog for her. I made sure she got her medication every day and at night I always put on her favorite movie and we would sit and watch it together. The hospice nurse that came always told me what a great job I was doing and I should go into the healthcare field. I always wanted to go back to college and become a nurse but things didn't work out that way. Yet. Instead I started working in nursing homes as housekeeping or laundry then went to dietary so I learned the difference in residents diets . I just took in all the information I could. I overthink everything and pay attention to every detail no matter how small. I got my first caregiver job last year. I loved working with residents and providing them the care they could no longer give themselves and I love putting a smile on there face. Then I got my med tech certification. So now I administer medication and also make sure they have a smile on there face everyday. I am responsible, caring, outgoing, and love what I do. I always treat my residents with the love and care they deserve and I treat them how I would want someone to treat my grandmother if wasn't there.
