I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

I am 52 years old. I have been in doing house keeping/ caregiving for 30 years. I was with my last family for 18 years. I start doing this because I was a single mother and need to have a flexible schedule. I have never been fired or even close. I enjoy helping those in need because we have all sometime or will sometime need help. I feel that is where God had put me. In 2018 my husband retired and we moved to PA. I thought I would love the retirement life and I did enjoy the first year, traveling, Well now I am bored. I am still fairly young I am completely flexible and I have a reliable vehicle. I am dependable. Trust worthy and truly care about others.

I previously worked as a medical assistant in doctor's office. I had a special needs daughter that passed away and led me to a career in home health. I love helping people maintain their dignity and comfort by helping them stay in the comforts of their own home.

I enjoy taking care of people. I think that any one that you care for should be treated like family, and making them smile. I am proud of myself for raising a wonderful son on my own, the experience was wonderful and would not change any thing. I am a very caring person, I took care of my father, and now I am caring for my mother. We only have one set of parents and they deserve there childrens respect and love. I am happy to be in this position and again would not change a thing. I had the experience of doing 24 hour care and have been hooked ever since. I am a very caring, responsible,dependable, honest and trusting person and have always had a good rating on being on time for work, stayed to work over time and best showing up for my shift every day. I like caring for people it makes me feel that what ever I do for them gives me a great feeling inside to be helpful. If you can help keep your patient happy and at ease when you are with them is a great feeling also, taking care of people that are not feeling well or that are sick takes a special type of person. Not every one is cut out for it.
