I love helping others. I'm very attentive to their needs and I have great patience. I am a loving and caring person this is why I love being a caregiver. Caregiving for me gives me the opportunity to do what I live best which is taking care of others. The elderly tend to me the more forgotten group because there families are busy trying to live there life and sometimes the balance can be thrown off. Being a caregiver I provide assistance to other people who because of a physical ability, chronic illness or cognitive impairment and are unable to preform certain duties on their own. Having a caregiver means they can now preform those duties with a little extra help. I am also a great listener and I learn super fast, and I also adapt in new environments.

I became a caregiver, when my mother became very ill. I decieded to stop working with my employer to take of my mother. I new everything about her and her needs. I new what it takes to care for her and I could spend all the time in the world with her. My mother was very important to me and my siblings and I couldn't trust anyone at the time of her sickness. I thought it would be hard and tiresome but it wasn't. We became more closer. She shared a lot of important things with me that I never knew about. I was glad to able to be in good health to take care of my mother who is so important to me and my siblings. I'm a proud daughter to know I was able to be there when she needed me and I was a shoulder she could lean on and a ear to listen to all the things she wanted to say, my mother was the best thing that ever happen to me. She was always there when we needed her. She cried when we cried, she hurt when we hurt, she was my only best friend and now she past away I truly miss her. I wish I can turn back the hands of time just to spend a little more time with her. She taught me everything I needed to know about life and how to appreciate the things we go through. She was the best of all mothers. So that's why I love working as a caregiver, it helps you help others go through their situation a little bit better, and give them comfort when they don't have anyone else to talk too.
