I became a caregiver to help others, it's always given me pleasure knowing I was able to make someone else's life a little better. I like being a caregiver because it allows me to give back what has been in me. The thing I'm mostly proud of is how much I've accomplished throughout my life. I'm 37 years of age and I've been a CNA for about 13 years now. I'm a very family-oriented, compassionate person who cares about the level of care I provide to others. I'm very dedicated to those I provide services for. I believe in the clients' right to choose his/her care along with treating the client and their loved ones with dignity and respect.

What makes me a great caregiver is my motivation and dedication towards my passion. I'm very engaging, I'm always the leader of the group, I can build relationships with residents, family, and coworkers and understand them on a mental/emotional level. When I was younger my abuelo ( grandpa ) was in the ICU and I always seen the RN's do their job and was so interested... the rest is history! A personal achievement I'm proud of is finishing my CNA course I'm one step away from getting my CNA license!

Starting off being a caregiver/pcw for my grandparents who are now deceased is what attracted me to being a caregiver. I have had a passion for health care & mostly the elderly population since I was in Kindergarten. However, I enjoy helping anyone who needs my assitance. I am proud to say I have been a Medical Assistant for the past 20 plus yearsr but feel I have come to a point in my career where the clinic setting has becomemore of a business and not very personal & caring. I became a caregiver as a young child. Helping my cousin, Brian, who had Downs Syndrome, overcome fears and succeed made me deeply happy. I worked my way through college as a live-in caregiver, and relived the joy I had as a young girl helping Brian love life. If I had to give one reason that sets me apart as a caregiver, it is this -- love making others feel safe, content, happy, and challenged. By that, I mean motivated to overcome problems and feel hopeful once again. Overall, I have been caregiving for 15+ years (except for the 20 years I taught school), and I give God the credit for placing the love and compassion in my heart for those who are suffering. When I help others, then I am happy.
