About Lauren

Decided to begin pursuing elderly in-home caregiving after a family friend suffered from 2 strokes at the age of 90. The family was unable to financially afford the transition to a senior living community and being that I train my clients in the evening, I had time available during my day and told the family I would help. After a year and a half spent caring for this woman, having her pass and having my own grandmother whom I was very close to pass right around the same time, I felt that it was something I wished to continue doing. I especially enjoy the intimate connection one makes with someone during the caretaking process. While they were trusting me to help them during their most vulnerable moments, they don't realize that they are in turn teaching me just as much. I had no idea that this type of work would elicit such a unique reward for myself, and also provide such a visible release of stress and burden off of those families which I choose to help.
