I became a caregiver Right after my grandfather passed away. He was on hospice for months and I took care of him until his very last breath. I enjoyed being able to take care of him that it made me want to help others. Knowing you helped someone with their day is the best satisfaction you could get. I'm a private duty aid and worked at sacred heart assisted living for a few years so it was great getting to know my residents and hearing the stories they had to share. You could always learn something new. I pride in myself knowing I helped make someone's day better. I am certified by the state to distribute medicine and have done AM and PM care which includes bathing dressing distributing medication feeding etc.
