I am a caring person by nature I like to see people around me taken care of. I am a mother and a wife who loves her family unfortunately my husband is unable to work and needs support do to a mental disability which led me to discover care giving, I could not leave my husband in the care of others whom I did not trust so I decided to take care of him myself. I have helped others recently and experienced much it has helped me understand the importance of taking care of people who are looking for a form of companionship in fact I feel that activities required are secondary but the most important aspect of care giving is the friendship and trust that is build. I enjoy the interaction and the connection that is formed while helping. What I am most proud of and also most sad about is that I recently helped take care of and elderly whom I made a bond with he is 98 years old now and came to me bedridden after working with his physical therapist we got him to start walking. His therapist told me that he liked what I did to help and that I did a better job then his son and he feels that he is no longer necessary and would like for me to continue what I am doing. I happily accepted feeling proud. After I had a conversation with Nizam and in the conversion Nizam asked me to take care him till the day he dies I felt overwhelmed and happy and agreed only to realize that a few months down his family wanted to shift him to his daughters house so she can take care of him. He did not want to go but I had no say in the matter, the day he left I cried, the look he gave me when he was leaving is something I still remember. I really wish I could keep him here so I could continue taking care of him. I am proud that he trusted and treated me nicely and sad that I could not continue taking care of him.
