Being a caregiver is rewarding it gives me satisfaction and a good feeling to be able to assist elders with things they can no longer do for themselves. I treat them as I would treat my own family members. Treat them with respect and let them know I am there to help them, not take away from their dignity. Just let them know they have someone who cares about them.

Im a good listener , observant and caring . i became a caregiver because thats always something I've always wanted to experience and has becane so great at it . i tooken care of my grandma for 2yrs while working for FCI . it wasnt easy but enjoyed every moment of it. I first began in the healthcare field 4 years ago with my handicap grandmother who was diagnosed with breast cancer & dementia with a history of diabetes & several strokes. I love being a blessing for those who are less fortunate & need assistance in order to complete normal everyday tasks, but I feel like they are an even bigger blessing to me, knowing that I'm making a difference in their lives as a companion, friend, & caretaker. After the interview process, I no longer consider my clients as patients... They become my family.
