I am a nursing student and certified nursing assistant. I used to work at a nursing home and now work at Carilion NRV part time. So if you need someone to be a companion or caregiver part time, I believe that I'm the right choice! I have always loved helping people. I find great joy in being able to assist someone in a task or being able to see a smile on their face. I enjoy getting to know the people that I'm helping take care of.
Hello, my name is Addison Wallace and I am currently a junior at Radford University studying to become a RN. I am a very loving and caring individual and I treat everyone as if they are family. I really wanted to become a caregiver because I love that I can say "I helped that person," or "I made them smile!" I am extremely proud that I have worked in a long term skilled environment.
I became a State Tested Nurses Assistant in 2015 back when i still lived in Ohio full-time. Since then I have worked in two nursing homes and worked for a home health agency, where I aided the residents/clients in their activities of daily living. What I love most about being an Aide is getting to know my clients/residents and hearing about their life story. I love being able to provide care to people who can not be fully independent so that they are able to stay in their family's residents longer. Recently, the state of Virginia recognized my Ohio state certification as a nurse aide.
Between my work experiences and personal needs of family and friends, I've spent most of my life as a caregiver. I raised two special needs children of my own while attending to my aging parents, including my mother with dementia. Shortly after the passings of my parents, I was the caregiver for my husband who eventually succumbed to COPD. On a volunteer basis, I've provided end-of-life care and post operative assistance. I'm very comfortable working with all ages. Other than heavy physical lifting, I'm capable and enthusiastic about providing care and support to a wide range of potential clients. My first aid and CPR were recently updated and I have extensive recent training in a variety of topics related to care giving, particularly with special needs children.
I have a passion for working with the elderly and disabled community. I have been blessed with a caring, sensitive and empathic nature and enjoy helping and serving others. I am friendly and compassionate, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude is an important part of my life. I teach meditation and am studying hypnotherapy, and I understand the need for a positive mental attitude in all areas. I enjoy providing others with the care they need to be able to enjoy their own lives to the fullest. I have cared for my daughter who was chronically ill for several years and would like to use that experience to improve the lives of another family or individual. Let's meet and find out if i can make a difference for you!

I'm grateful to be a caregiver! especially thankful to those who trust me enough to care for their a love one. I have dedicated my time thirteen years now in this field. I wouldn't change it for the world. It brings joy helping others, I use to only want this career to only follow in my family's foot steps. I see now it's for the love, and passion, the joy of helping those who are in need. I pray one day someone will feel the same about me. Im outgoing, compassionate. Patient, and very understanding. I have many many skills I have developed over the years, Hospice, Feeding Tube, Dementia, sundowners, and etc...
I have been a caregiver going on thirteen years! I love every second of it.. It's nothing like seeing the joy on someone's face who is in need of care, or that extra care and support. I enjoy knowing my work is appreciated and it's needed.. I never saw myself in this field as a child. As I proceeded to get older and seeing the old or young in need of help it made my heart ache for them. I just pray that in my golden years I find the same care of joy and compassion the same as I enjoy to give to others..

Since my teen years I have wanted to become a nurse because of my love for people and caring. During the summers of 2011 and 2012 I worked as a volunteer Certified Nurse Aide in Zambia at a hospital for children with curable disabilities. This experience confirmed my love for nursing and then in 2012 I began taking pre-nursing courses and I will start Radford`s Nursing program in the fall. Nursing is so much more than just the science and the vital signs. Nursing the whole body approach to caring for sick and hurting people. I have learned so much through the patients I have cared for about life and wisdom and that knowledge is a gift I will never forget.
