My personality traits that I'm naturally a caring person and have compassion for others. I love to help others. I have the ability to bring my best qualities into my work environment and use them alongside the skills I have gained training in nurse assistant and medical assistant education. What attract me in been a caregiver is my mother who is a retired nurse for over 20 yrs and my grandmother who always helping people in need at her age of 91 she still does her part in the community. In 2010 my grandfather pass away of myeloma I was his caregiver. All this and more attracted me to become a caregiver. I enjoy most about been a caregiver is an opportunity to show love, respect, and dignity to those in need. It is a deeply fulfilling experience that allows me to learn more about myself and grow as an individual. Caring for someone is a powerful and intimate relationship that can bring about a strong connection and bond. When caring for someone, it is important to show love, trust, and understanding. One of my personal achievement that I proud of is becoming an advocate of others who is need.

1 What makes you a great caregiver? I'd leave it to others to rate me as a caregiver: my clients, former clients, client's family members. I'd only say that competence, personal integrity and humility (serving and putting others first) are core to the kind of person I endeavor to be in THIS LIFE. 2 Why did you become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because I love ALL peoples, and serving is the best way to demonstrate sincere love, love as defined by N.T. writers This Douglas Adams quote says it best: "To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." 3. What do you like about being a Caregiver? I'm gratified when the care I provide exactly meets the client's needs and allows family members to confidently have a guilt-free break from the care of an aging, ill, or disabled family member. (There are two in my family) 4. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? -I was picked to be on a team assembled to care for a quadriplegic client. I had the privilege of providing her professional home healthcare: meal preps, tub baths, light housekeeping, from bed to chair transfers, (without HoyerLift) She also required a colostomy bag and urinary catheter care. -I'm also proud to have been selected, from a relatively large number of candidates, to assist a family dedicated to the care of a loved one severely disabled by Autism. -Most recently, I enjoyed the privilege of helping to provide 24-hour care for a SECOND quadriplegic client: a large male, requiring assistance with no HoyerLift transfers, tub baths, lots of passive ROM & OT prescribed exercises, scheduled repositioning while asleep, and more -I once successfully self-prepared at home for a proctored Microsoft exam. -Self-instructed, I can speak some Spanish and some Mandarin Chinese. 5. Tell us something about yourself. Grandfather of 4 -lifelong Bible student -love: Gospel hymns, animals, plants, walks, ping pong, audiobooks.

Hi Ive been in the medical field in various levels of patient care over 35 years. I have prenursing training and education , Im a registered Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant, much more than a CNA. After caring for my 95 year old mom for 6 years; the realization needing an xtra hand, if nothing else to get a break , was challenging to locate a professional quality caregiver that actually knew what they were doing, and were reliable. It's important to have a good fit with your reliable caregiver. In order to achieve quality care, the well-being , help maintain as much independence as possible, and mentally stimulation; plus provide comfortably safe environment is crucial. I offer a variety of shifts, days, and nights, over-night and weekends /holidays stays, to assist, and provide that much needed break to the full time family caregivers. I really enjoy helping the patient comfortable in their own space. My grandfather and the way he was treated in a nursing home. He just wanted to be at his home. Helping my patient feel comfortable and relaxed. Letting him or her tell stories about the past,love,kids, what it was like in the old days. Being there for them when they need me most. My major objective for becoming a caregiver is to make a difference in people's lives. People need a doctor to diagnose and treat their diseases and ailments, they need a nurse to administer medication and treatment when they are sick. However, at all times they need a caregiver to listen to them, attend to their everyday needs and treat them with compassion. That is where I come in. What I like about being a caregiver is that it affords me the opportunity to use what I have, the skill, knowledge, experience coupled with love, honesty and integrity to help people in need. One personal achievement I am proud of is the completion of the NRCPT Phlebotomy Technician's certificate and yet, rather than sit down to do venipuncture, I chose to do what I like most--care for people. I have worked in various aspects of the healthcare system. Overseas, I worked as pharmacy technician, medical assistant and nursing assistant for eight years. Here in the United States I have taken care of different kinds of patients especially the geriatric population and those with Alzheimer's disease as a professional certified by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. I am very reliable, dependable and both a team player and team leader. I do my job with integrity and honesty. Moreover, I take the job personal in that I view the patient as if he/she was my father/grandfather, mother/grandmother, uncle/aunty.

I am understanding and compassionate to each individual's care and needs. I treat my patients and their family with respect and dignity that all deserves. I have worked in various setting such as, Adult Trauma & Pediatric Unit in ER , Brain and Spinal Injury, Alzheimer/Dementia, MICU, SICU, PACU, Telemetry,Labor & Delivery, Ante and Post Partum, NICU, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, ICU, Nursing Homes and In Home Care. What I enjoy most is being able to fulfill a patients needs to the best of my ability. Most families I've cared for says I go beyond my duties. My biggest achievement is being able to still have the compassion and drive it takes to do this type of job.

I have always been passionate about making the lives of those I care for owing to my experience in clinical practice as a an LVN/LPN licensed Nurse and a volunteering work in healthcare in which I have managed the aged and elderly and built a wonderful relationship with them which has helped the outcome of daily living, much improved. Owing to this experience, its been my passion to continue on such opportunities to provide quality care for my clients to make their lives much better.

I've been caring for elderly for about 15 years. Started with my grandma and having her tell me thank you so much and being appreciative of the small things I would do to make her smile did it for me. That's when I grew the passion to care for others. I love taking care to elderly as if they were my grandparents. I always make sure I give it that extra 110%!
