I became a caregiver when my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. I was her caregiver until she died. I felt great knowing that I could be there for her like she was there for me all my life. After she passed in 2010, I took classes to become a CNA. I've been taking care of the elderly ever since. I am a very compassionate and honest person. I am a very dedicated young lady and takes my job very seriously.

I have work with people who have Alzheimer's tracheotomy, dialysis I can take blood give insuline, dispense medicine, use a hoyer lift, change dipers give bed baths and showers assist in walking and help with physical and occupational therapy, I also cook and clean. I love being able to go into someone's household and be an asset to them helping to live out the the rest of their life or just helping them have the best quality of life living at home and being comfortable there. I am also a Medical Assistant and CPR and First Aide certified. I also have 16 years experience

I love helping people. This job isn't just a job to me it's a way of life.

I am a very caring person i love taking care of others i have patience with people i listen and help with everything they need what i enjoy most about being a caregiver is to make them comfortable and happy with life and let them know that care i am here to help and a personal achievement that i am proud of that i took care of my grandma that was fighting cancer for four a couple years and that's what made me a stronger individual to help and care.

My name is Jeannie Smith I am 35 years old. I have worked in the medical field for 11 years. In those 11 years I have obtained a CNA, CMA, a current CPR and first aid. I have completed all except for 12 weeks of my practical nursing I attended college at Kaplan University in Omaha,NE. I have worked in places such as: nursing homes, assisted living, specialty units (dementia, brain damage), nursing agencies, in home care (private pay), multiple hospitals. I have worked with patients/residents with a variety of aliments such as: dementia, Alzheimer's, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, cancer, paralysis/prosthesis. I feel God places you in different situations and that he's put me in specific situations to make me a better person. I feel that these situations have made me a better CNA such as my brother suffering a coma due to being hit by a drunk driver and my other brother suffering major brain damage and bed ridden due to a massive heart attack/stroke. I know God has placed me here to care for others. And I do that through being a CNA. I love what I do with a passion.

What makes me a great caregiver is working with people in a home care setting, it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion I will let the person that I am caring for I will let the person know that they are care about and what I can do to help them. Why I became a caregiver Growing up in a family of medical professionals I surely thought that one day I would become a nurse. After watching my mom take care and aid the sick in her home, I knew I wanted to become more hands-on with patients. While still in high school, I became a volunteer patient assistance for a local Nurse home, helping out with medical records and little jobs as needed around the Nurse. Being surrounded on a daily basis by this kind of environment is what made me want to become a caregiver. After high school I became a childcare provider in a facility, and I ran my own daycare from my home. Although I loved what I did, it didn't bring me as much joy as caring for the elderly. What do I like about being a caregiver. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel you can get along well with a variety of elders.I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. What make me a great caregiver is me being patient and understanding to other people's needs . i just really enjoy helping people in anyway I can either help to encourage them or jus being there with understanding if they can't I'm proud of being the person that will help and encourage any person

I'm Michelle Outsey wright, I've been working since I was 9 yrs. old. My very first job was baby setting. Next, I did tutoring. When I was 10 I started going around my neighborhood helping the elderly! I loved it! I use to help them clean, cook, I'd do hair, I'd even help them in personnel ways! They loved me! I have always loved just helping and being there for others. As a child I wanted to be a teacher,( done that), a nurse(doing that now), Childcare provider( done that). At 15 my first summer job was at Children's hospital as a unit clerk. I've ways loved helping people. I love making them smile. I love being around the elderly because they give me so much inspiration. I love their stories and I learn a lot from them also. When I take care of someone I love giving my all and doing my very best. I'm a very caring and considerate person. Always put others before me. I was married, I raised 7 children that weren't mine biologically. But I treated them like my own for over 7 yrs. I'm also an apprenticed funeral director and embalmer. I love people till death literally! I've been a CNA for 10ys. Did Childcare for 10 yrs. I'm currently in school to become a lisensed mortician and an RN. But I very much enjoy being a CNA! It's my passion. I love every thing I do.
