I became a caregiver in 2001 and have been doing it for over 18 years.. I like getting to know people and caring for them.. I want to treat them like they were my family member.im glad to give my time and do something I love to do.. I like to go out my way to make my resident happy..I'm very caring and I love to help out other people .. I like to take pride in my work and I do my best to make me and everyone happy...im very happy when im doing what i love.. It's hard to talk about ourselves but I'll give it a try, I was introduced to caregiving by a family member since that day I went and got my self in school to get my cna certification later on I also received my dsp certification. This career is very rewarding for me, helping people and providing support to the people that needed the most is what I enjoy doing the most. I grew up with my grandparents and naturally we take care of our own as it is a cultural thing. I am always on time. I am very compassionate, I have a powerful desire to help people. Always 100% dedicated to helping my residents/clients. I take my time to find out the exact needs of all residents. I have empathy to get to know all my residents to get a close bond. What attracted me to be a caregiver is when my grandmother got very sick and I was the only one willing to help her for 2 years. I got really into it and enjoyed what I did. I realized I didn't want to just help my grandmother I wanted to help other people as well. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the bond I make with each resident and knowing they're getting the proper care when I help them, and providing them with a happy and comfortable life. The personal achievements I'm most proud of is knowing my family and other families appreciates my help and kindness when leaving me with their beloved ones. Also, learning how to help each resident with their different health problems or diseases.

I once was going to school for nursing, but didn't finish, so I worked in the acute hospital and convalescent home, plus in-home care for quite a while. I love caring for the sick and disable. I like to try and help and encourage others to get better and not to quit. I saw a friend of mine hold on after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, when the doctor's had given up on her, that I was there to encourage her to not give up and she lived a healthy life for a little of two more years, when the the breast cancer attacked her again, and she was tired and gave up and died.
