I have been in the health care / nursing field extensive amount of years along with experience, caring for individuals of all ages, mostly geriatrics. I started out as a nursing assistant and furthered my education to become an LVN, which i have known to be a "gift"/talent in helping other's. I find myself as a very responsible, reliable, motivated individual with strong communication and listening skills and committed to the highest quality of patient/client care. I believe that i am a warm-hearted, kind, friendly individual with an added sense of humor. Respect and concern are vital when dealing with geriatrics. In my opinion, those attributes make the difference between average care and superior care. I am confident to say that i do have the attributes vital for superior care. I will sum up with this attribute that is so true to me- "treat your patient's/clients the way that you want to be treated".

Skills & Certifications: Diabetes, Arthritis, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Vision and Eye Disorders, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Stroke, Skin Disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, Palliative Care, Parkinson's Disease, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Care, Hospice Care, Home Health Care, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Depression, COPD, Cardiovascular Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia

What makes me a great caregiver is I have a God given gift of compassion and the ability to solve problems. I also have a cheery personality and love to laugh and in this business it's important! Also I know how to get whatever needed... done! I started out 16 years ago taking care of my husband who had renal failure requiring a kidney transplant. When that failed he had to back on dialysis which slowly tore his body down a little at a time and could no longer even walk, shower or brush his teeth. I did everything for him and wouldn't have had it any other way! For the last 2 years I've been taking care of a lady with heart disease. I do her laundry, shop, cook, serve, clean, manage her meds and accompany her to Dr. visits.

Skills & Certifications: Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Post Surgery Recovery, COPD

I consider myself a kind and caring person. I get along well with the elderly and people with disabilities. I have worked with disabled adults and also at nursing homes. I would say i have a higher level of patience. I am physically in good shape and i realize that this type of job can both be physical and mentally challenging. I enjoy having a kind demeaner with the clients and providing companionship as well as good personal care. My favorite part about being a caregiver is taking that extra time to have a conversation or just letting my residents know I really care about them. One personal achievement i am proud of is getting my CNA license and also being a home owner.
