Hello, my name is Xochi, a flower in the Aztec language. However, my middle name is Amy, which is easier to remember. I have been told often that I have a big heart and compassion for others. I have been previously in the social work field for the last twenty-five years. But what came next has impacted my life and led me to the decision I am much happier in the caregiver field. I was raised by my single mother and grandmother, who passed away a year from one another in 2019 and 2020. I had the privilege to care for and be there for them both, which I see as a personal achievement. Then the light bulb went on, and I never returned to my previous job. Today, I help the seniors and disabled in my neighborhood and care for my two senior citizens, four four-legged family members, Boy a Jack Russell Bread, 16 years old, and Darla Carolina, 17.

I became a cna in 1997 and continued my desired position for 12 yrs ranging from convalescent homes to Lindsay and Sierra hospitals then my last employer was private in home that's where I realized I was my happiest, the friendship and bond you create is so much more then just helping someone out and going on your way, I bonded and made a friend along the way which was good for all parties involved. I have been a stay at home mom and wife for the past 2-3 yrs now since I lost my friend due to the battle but I am eager to help another in need and possibly make a new friend.

I am very friendly, truthful, honest, and caring . I like to help the individual stay active so they do not lose the ability to do for themselves. I have worked in the medical field for many years. I have handled many different scenarios and situations so nothing surprises me to much. I am not judge mental and I enjoy helping the individual to feel good about their day and what they have accomplished. Positivity and Smiles go along way. No one is perfect However, I strive to be the best person I can be everyday. A personal achievement of mine was when I worked with an individual who was non verbal and he had a lot of behaviors and he could be very mean. I spoke to him and treated him like he was the same as everyone else. I cooked a special dinner for him and made it all homemade from scratch and he watched me make the whole meal. When I served him he looked at me took a bite then reached over and grabbed my arm gently and kissed my arm and he smiled so big. It took about a month to get that acceptance from him. When he finally accepted me it made me tear up. I felt so accomplished because this guy ran off so many Direct support Professionals. I felt as though I could do anything because of the wonderful feeling of gratitude and gratefulness that I received from that individual.

As the eldest sibling, nurturing comes naturally to me. I have been in health care since college but it wasnt until a family member was in need of a care provider that I discovered my purpose in the medical field. Since then, I have continued my education for the last 10 years and in return have gained excellant skills in senior care, specialty care, palliative care, hospice/end of life care. My ability in providing superior care goes in hand with developing a strong relationship with my clients that know they can depend and trust the care and services I provide. I am absolutely compassionate about being a care provider and it deeply fullfills me being apart of each clients journey to stay at home with individual care, that specifically fits your needs. I am from the Philippines but I've been here in the U.S. for almost 20 years. In the country were I grew up, we have no nursing homes nor assisted living facilities, therefore we have to take in our elderly and take care of them and that's how care giving comes so naturally to me. Being able to help someone and improve their quality of life, makes me happy. I am 44 years old, very passionate on what I do and would always go extra miles to meet the needs of the individuals.

I feel like caregiving was something I was born to do. I enjoy getting to know new people and help them with the tasks they need help with. I have always been naturally caring. It was in 2010 when I felt the calling. 2011 I went to school to get my CNA license. I took care of my daughter who was undergoing treatment at the time. In 2013 I officially used my license at a local rehab facility. It was hard to leave my patients at the rehab facility who I had became close to and loved. 2015 I started to work at Sierra View where I floated to multiple departments. During that time I gain a better knowledge of how to take care and treat my patients. I and now looking to help a family in need to take care of their love one.
