I went into healthcare right out of high school and have been in the field since. I love providing care for all ages. Its my passion. I'm currently in school to continue my education in nursing. I volunteer at my local animal control. I am very passionate about animal care and protecting them from abuse. I current foster animals to get them ready for their furever home.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I listen and watch my clients. I may close attention to small details because at times that's all that matters. What attracted me to become a caregiver is the way I was raised to care for people who are in need and may not have anyone else. I was taught to treat and show respect to all kinds of humanity regardless of the way the look,talk,and dressed. I have had my youthful times of being youthful, lol, yet I've been giving care since I was a little school girl. Hi I'd like to share a little about why I became a nurse. My plan in life was to pursue contemporary dance and to become a beautician. Well I was well on my way when in 1987 right after graduating high school and obtaining my cosmetology license my life suddenly took a different turn. I was given the wrong medication and instantly became a patient. I had great care but one nurse stood out to me. She was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I instantly made a promise that I would become a nurse and be the best at giving care to others!! I love assisting and aiding others to becoming rehabilitated to their natural state of health. I give 110% to those who I provide care for along with their family members.

Although this is my first time as a professional caregiver I know this is a great fit for me. I am single mother raising a handsome boy that was diagnosed with epilepsy at birth. since then I feel the need to help people all around me.Family or strangers. I'm a very compassionate and empathetic person. I am patient. I am reliable. I am trustworthy. What I enjoy most about caring for others is the ability to help when they need it the most.

Born to older parents, exposed to illness, my parents didn't believe that this should be hidden from me. It would be better to be exposed in order to be prepared for life. Parents were German immigrants, and went through the second world war. One of the earliest experiences that I can remember is my dad relapsing from malaria. I applied cold compresses, and served him liquids, as the doctor told me to. My mom was ill, and cared for her until she died at age 46.I was 12. At 17, I was hired by Kimberly Quality Care as a home health aide. My client suffered a traumatic brain injury, and I learned so much from his family and the research I did on the subject. This led me to nursing school, and here it is, so many years later, and I am still learning more. Science and medicine are my passion, and that will never change. The advances made daily basis are not just amazing, but confounding. The scientific community is one I'm proud to be a part of. The best thing that I have ever done was in South Carolina, on the 3-11 shift. In order to save a life, I bypassed facility protocol, and I called rescue to send a patient to the hospital STAT. The staff was shocked, and told me that I would be fired. I was ready to lose my license, if that would just save that life. Long story short, the MD, who was also the medical director, treated this patient. He came in the following shift to let me know that the person survived, and if I had hesitated, that would not have been the case. I receiv
