Started volunteering for Hospice when my mom was working for them when i was about 12 yrs old. Became very close with one woman that was on and off of Hospice for years, when she was coming to the end i went and moved in with her and her daughter to help with her care. After she passed away I went to CNA classes and was determined to give everyone the same type of love and care that i gave that woman and the peace of mind i gave her daughter.

I became a caregiver when I was 19,during that time I was caring for my uncle who was dieing from stage 4 cancer.Yes it was hard but sence then I've cared for clients who suffer from Alzheimer's, dementia,Parkinson's and mentally challenged. Knowing I've made a difference in their lives gives me great joy.I think my greatest accomplishment is going to school to get the training I needed to do an awesome job.

I am very compassionate and attentive to the needs of the elderly. I am extremely dependable and highly motivated in providing patient care. I am very loving and love to listen when they are talking to me. I have been in the medical field most of my working career, however I worked in Pathology and not as a caregiving. I am very knowledgeable about what happens when we age which I believe helps me understand what a person experience during the aging process. Listening to people tell you about who they are and what they have done over their life time. I had the opportunity to take care of an elderly gentleman during his last days and making his last days as enjoyable and pleasant and possible. I think of him and miss him everyday. He died two months before his 100th birthday. He was an amazing man. I believe that I not only comforted and touched his life but he touched mine. May he rest in peace.
