I have been a CNA for 10 years, and have worked in all different situations in many different facilities. I aspire to go further with my nursing degree, and eventually, hopefully become an RN like my mom. I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me a sense of purpose, I enjoy helping people. Many life lessons held dearest to my heart, came from the facility where I worked my first 2 years as a CNA. I currently work PRN for an agency based out of Indianapolis. Although I am through an agency, I have been steadily picking up at a facility in Franklin for over 5 years. I am searching for a PRN or part time option closer to home. Hello my name is Michelle Dayton. I have worked in home healthcare for close to 25 years. I have been State certified as a CNA in both Michigan and Indiana. I am not currently certified but I am a registered HHA. I get tremendous enjoyment of taking care of others. My healthcare career started as a volunteer for hospice after I lost my grandparents. I've seen what amazing work they did and how at peace my grandparents were when they passed and I chose to pay it forward. I am a little more picky on the people I take care of then other Aides for two reasons: 1. If the client and I seem to clash it's no good for anyone. So I will not waste your time or my own. I will just respectfully decline the offer. 2. The clients I take on will not be just a clients. I love my people like they're my own family and I will do my absolute best to meet every need they have. If I cannot accomplish that I will find someone who can and put you in touch with them, because there's no sense in your family members being unhappy and uncomfortable in their own home. I feel that I am very caring and compassionate with each and every client that I've had. I believe everyone deserves respect, kindness and a voice( your opinion matters to me!) I will never force your family members to do something they don't want to do. I feel they have live through several wars, a great depression and a whole lot of hardship in the past and now is their time to be pampered. If your family member needs anything or you have questions about anything if I can't answer them I will find the answers and if I have the answers I will let you know.

Hello! My name is Dani and I am a PhD student at Miami University. I have both a bachelors and masters degree in psychology and currently study behavioral neuroscience. During my undergraduate career I worked in senior care (5 years), and while my current position is rewarding- I truly miss being a caregiver. Being a caregiver allows you to know individuals on a deep and intimate level while helping them and their families transition during a very challenging time. I have a wide range of experience and enjoy learning new things- further, I would consider myself to be very patient, kind and reliable (essential traits for this kind of work!). I have always been people oriented and always try to help whenever I can. Helping older people who have done so much to make the world what it is now just feels like an honor to do. Getting to know and help someone who has been through it all is something I enjoy very much. As of now, my best personal achievement is being able to say that I'm living on my own with my boyfriend. It may not seem like much to some, but we have built what we have from nothing. We have 2 cats, and about 30 or 40 fish in our little apartment. Selling and raising fish has always been a dream of mine and we are there.
