I enjoy being a caregiver, has 18+ years in caregiving. I enjoy being able to make a difference in the lives of others. It gives me satisfaction to be able to see a smile on the face of the people assisted.

I became a caregiver because I have a big heart and a lot to offer in ways of understanding and patience. I see my clients as people still and not just a job. I also have personal experience with special needs and a long range of care. From hydrocephalus and a shunt as well as multiple surgeries and recovery, incontinence and Cath care and multiple other things I have went through with one of my twins since birth. Also have worked with hospice patients and families. Have also went through my own person experiences with hospice and with loss including one of my children and with others close to me.

I like to think of myself as very caring and compassionate, I love helping other people. I have been working in long term caring (nursing home) for a little over 3 years and have always had my full heart in it. I love being able to make a impact on others lives by helping in ways that maybe they can't anymore. I have recently started nursing school to further my career in healthcare.

I received my CNA certificate after my maternal grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer. Prior to her being placed on hospice I would watch what the nurses were doing and when small things would happen I would take over. Example her if would constantly alarm I watched and learned to reset it if the nurse was busy. After my grandmother was placed on hospice she said to me after me helping to care for her she whispered to me moments before passing "baby doll this is your calling, God has placed you here to care for others please peruse this field". And I did just that. I retained my CNA and worked in various nursing homes and always had an interest in death and dying units. I wanted to make them as comfortable and content as possible. I wanted to be there as much as I could for those who had family place them in nursing homes and never visit. I wanted to be there like family . which led me to the choice being offered to a patient that use to come into the ER routinely. Until family of that patient offered me to take care of him at home until his last days... I worked for a nursing home where we had a husband and wife in separate sections of the nursing home I worked with the husband more frequently than the wife but one morning I arrived at work and heard thru our morning meeting report that the wife had passed and they hadn't told the husband . I offered because I was very close to him . long story short family was not going to make arrangements for him to attend her funeral due to limitations he had ie him being in a wheelchair and then not having access to transportation to get him there. Short staffed at the home I offered on my day off to see to him getting to the funeral home church and grave site. It was hard I pushed him thru areas that were grassy muddy and not meant for travel in a wheel chair but I did it . I put myself in his shoes that did and did whatever it took.

I enjoy working with elderly. I have been in this field most of my life and it simply comes as a second nature for me. I enjoy helping others.

I am an outgoing, passionate, dependable caregiver that delivers exceptional care to the patient and reassurance for the family knowing their loved one is in good hands. My goal everyday is to give my best and improve the quality of someone's life.

I have been a CNA for 15 years. At the age of 20 I started going to the nursing home where my grandmother resided and took care of her. She had Alzheimer's. She could not do anything for herself. I would go and feed her and help the other CNA's take care of her. I had a RN and Administrative staff from the nursing home talk to me about going to school to become a Nurse. I enrolled in their CNA program and completed all courses and passed State Boards in Paducah, KY. My grandmother died a year after I received my certification. I worked there for 8 years. I took some time off until my two children were in preschool. I then decided to go back to being a CNA, but this time I wanted to give the hospital a try. I applied to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. I got the job. A job most people dream about getting. I loved every second of it. It was remarkable, but very different from nursing homes. I was a CNA, but did LPN work with my patients. I feel like I've been around the world working at Vanderbilt. You come across so many different walks of life and each patient is different and that in itself is so rewarding. I decided to not go to nursing school because I love being able to bond with my patients. I didn't just want to do paperwork and give meds. I love being a CNA. I love every relationship I've built with my patients and their families.

I have been a Caregiver for years. With Both Parents died with Cancer. I was their Caregiver. My husband has had 28 surgery's. I have experience in Ostomy care. I have and now working with Two Beautiful ladies with Dimenta. In home, and Health Facilities. I am a true loving,and caring individual. I love working with young people as well. Love being able to help others in need. Big Heart, and loving thoughtful, care.

I became a caregiver to give back to my community. I absolutely love and enjoy making a difference in the lives of others who are less fortunate to do so for themselves. I currently have my Emergency Medical Service license in good standing with the state of Tennessee as well as National Registration of Emergency Medical Technicians and current up to date CPR. I work 36 hours a week for a private EMS service in Nashville and am looking for a few extra hours to pick up during the week. I no longer have a current CNA license but have been licensed in the state of TN and am in good standing to renew my license if I so wish. I just left it expire due to the fact I am working EMS now and no longer working at any nursing homes/assisted living centers where it was required.
