I became a caregiver because I believe it is in my nature and I am compassionate about helping others. I like being a caregiver because no matter how hard I may work or how my day is going, it doesn't feel like work. I would like to help others by doing what I like. I am a mother of four, very energetic and friendly. I recently left my position full time for a major dialysis company in downtown Baltimore and have been in healthcare for a while and started working for Catholic Charities in May 2017, part time on the weekends. I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.

I've been a caregiver for 10 yrs I love being able to help make a person feel safe and comfortable in their home I'm a great companion listening and I have lots of energy to make a bad day a good one ima proud of the fact that every client I've ever had loves me because I come with love and compassion when I enter and work in their home I have experience in it all it's nothing I can't do

I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

Why I am a great caregiver? I embody the word "care." I believe that I am in this world to be a great caregiver. I cared for six foster children after their mother lost her way and left them to fend for themselves. Their ages ranged from one to seven years old, and they lived with me for seven years. I helped build a home for them, and some of them still reside in that home to this day. As a caregiver, I am very observant and skilled in assisting with the health needs of the care recipient. Caring for others brings me contentment and joy. My profession has taught me how to get along well with many different types of people. the work environment is loaded with a variety of different people with varying personalities. I work well with anyone who delivers what they promise. I have always been able to get along with anyone. It does not matter how difficult some of my co-workers can be, I've always managed to get along with them. I even manage to work well with those whom I do not encounter on a daily basis. In summary, working well with others simply means, having great work ethics, personality, and a passion for delivering what you promise. I have great communication skills and can work with many different types of people of varying personalities and skill levels. I am motivated, disciplined, and focused and I am determined to get my job done well and on time. Changing the way people age, is part of my daily activity.

I am a certified nursing assistant medicine Tech I enjoy working with the elderly I've had over 30 years experience and home one on one Companion Care .I enjoy working with the elderly is my passion I'm I actually got in this field over as I stated before 30 years ago working with my grandmother's late father-in-law home had dementia. I've learned so much about Alzheimer's dementia and it just made me want to further my education and Elderly Care I have training in a lot of areas I've had in services in a lot of areas I am loyal reliable and dependable person I love the elderly as if it was my own parent and I provide professional Care I am proud about that I still enjoy what I do is truly my passion it's not just a job for the money what I enjoy about my job is being able at the end of the day to say that I made a difference in the elderly patients life and their family and I came home smiling and laughing and I was able to help them do something that they wasn't able to do and last but not least What attracted me to doing this type of work as I stated earlier and my sentencing that my grandmother's father-in-law needed help and at the age of 17 .I assisted with it and I was like oh this is not bad at all so I've been doing nursing every since in my daughter does too so it runs in the family Thank You

I like providing primary nursing care to the population in need of help. To help out in giving the task to nurish one back in becoming healthy. Instill hope and in giving care, is an achievement in knowing that someone was help in becoming holistically healthy. As an understanding, compansionate, encourager, it is one of my better qualities in helping one in need of help.
