Everyone needs help from time to time. I like being that for someone, and hopefully making their day nicer, too. It's the little things that make a bad day better. I am not certified, but I have had multiple jobs as a caretaker, skills coach, and mental health aide. I have experience in most skills requested, and am very comfortable performing all care needs. I am open to expanding my skills, and will put in the extra effort and research needed. Ive had training in most everything listed, including lifting, mobility, CPR, and first aid. I have always enjoyed caring for people. It is the biggest reason I became a nurse. I have been working and continue to work in an acute care setting where I have gained alot of experience and expanded my skills with high acuity patients. On my unit we can take any adult patient but the majority of the patients we receive are geriatric. I really enjoy taking care of the elderly population. I am very easy going and understanding . I think I bring a calming presence to most patients especially in times they feel most vulnerable.

I am a caring and very compassionate person. That will go above and beyond for anyone. My ex-step mom was a RN and so I wouldn't get into trouble growing up she would have me Volunteer at her work with residents and from that point on at the age of 10 I wanted to work in the health care field. I also love helping people and making a difference in people's lives. I'm proud that I graduated High School and received my Caregiver and home Health Aid certification.

I have been a caregiver for the past 7years I have worked in Facilities and private duty. I have taken care of a variety of patients and I have had lots of training though out my career. I love what I do being able to help put the families mind at ease and making my patients feel comfortable. I have been a certified caregiver since 1982. I was among the first batch of caregivers trained by the American Red Cross in 1982. I am a very sympathetic and empathic person. I am also very patient. The personal achievement I am proud of is raising my four children and they are all university graduates. I did all these being a caregiver and that is why caregiving is my passion.

I have been a caregiver for 25yrs and more. I love my job, helping and caring for others. Very caring, compassion, I love to just to see the smiles. I have work at nursing working with all type of people. Taking care of my on parents before they passed away. My mother had dementia and my father cancer. I also work at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric hospital for 11yrs. I have worked with Senior Services. Then went to Grand Rapids and worked with the Veterans Now working at Medilodge of Kalamazoo been there for the last 2yrs.

I have always wanted to commit myself to doing something meaningful in my career and I felt that becoming a CNA wold provide that while I was in school for my bachelors and next for my masters in PA studies. To be spending my days helping sick people to feel well, to help educate people in how best to take care of themselves is something that has always spoken to me. Working as a CNA has been a great opportunity because it has confirmed in my mind what I had been anticipating, which is how much I look forward to working with patients. It has allowed me to be the positive presence that I want to be in people's lives. Leaving work every day knowing I made a difference not only in someone's life but in their well-being is the most rewarding thing that I have ever done. Not only do I enjoy it because of the positive impact it allows me to make in their daily lives but also because of the way they impact me. Caring for them forces me to figure out the best way to help people feel better. Sometimes that means really learning to understand the effects of behavioral or cognitive disorders, and sometimes that means helping people cope with the pain, fear and anxiety that medical challenges can bring. It is challenging but deeply meaningful to care for patients because I get to develop a deeper understanding of how to improve the quality of life to people who rely on me and look to me for relief. My greatest personality traits and expertise that has helped me become a great caregiver is my constant open mindedness to grow and learn to become the best version of myself. My ability to bring a positive warm energy to work has allowed me to create a comfortable and safe environment for my patients. I am also a very driven and dedicated person who will not walk away from a problem until it is solved or keep working until I fulfill my dreams. My greatest personal achievement would be graduating with my bachelors in four years at the age of 22.

Caregiving has always been a passion, starting with my own parents as they were aging. Realizing that I was good at it because people appreciated my care, I started my own business which was very successful until it became too busy for me to carry on with my growing family. I love getting to know people and their histories. I am quite good at problem solving. I have been caregiving on a private basis for over 30 years.

Since I was a child, I've loved helping other people. I enjoy working with people of all ages and circumstances. What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to help those with disabilities live happier, healthier lives.
