I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

I have dedicated the last 13 yrs of my life caring for others. I am what you would consider an old soul. My career began in a nursing home in the laundry department. After getting to know all the residents (who not only became my friends but my family) I came to the realisation that 95% of them all wanted the same thing. To be/go home. The care they received in those facilities truly hurt me. I decided right then that I was going to go back to school. I have made it my lifes mission to keep as many people as possible out of those facilities and give not only dignity but true care. I have managed to stay word of mouth for the last 8yrs, which that in itself is impressive. I've made many friends and lost many friends as well. I still stay in contact with my clients family members as it makes me feel close to the person we lost. In 2015 and 2016 I was named and nominated the most exceptional caregiver award.
