I became a caregiver to my sister in Los Angeles, CA, who had cancer in 2015. After she passed away, I knew that this was my calling. I was told by the staff at Cedar Saini that they appreciated my help while I was there looking after my sister. The staff acknowledged my patience and compassion towards other patients also. I earned my CNA and worked in a nursing home as well as providing in home care for others who were like my sister. My life changed, as I knew there was no better way for me to contribute to others by helping them daily. I enjoyed their company and looked forward to making a difference!

My previous job was caring for patients in the hospital as a catering associate from 6:30am-7:30pm delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner , I did the most of what I could for the patients. I've dealt with many types of patients. Patients withdrawing from alcoholism/ drugs. Patient's whom were diabetic/cardiact. Patients going into surgery and coming out of surgery. Patients whom were bariatric and feeders. I had to make sure they were getting the diets they needed to be healthier due to their health conditions. My patients were whom made me want to wake up in the morning and go to work. They made me happy as much as I made them happy. I was grateful to have been there for them through the toughest times in life. It was my duty to make sure they got what they needed to passthrough that process in life. My patients were always happy to know I was there to take care of them. They warmed my heart everytime I walked in and out of thier rooms. My smile is what makes them smile. I had to move to MO so I couldn't continue my job. Therefore that is why I want to continue caring for elderly people here and now. I don't mind cleaning , laundry , as well as personal cleaning , etc. I am very pet friendly. I have my own vehicle. I love to cook. I will cook every meal or whatsoever is needed. I love being outside and just being proactive. I like to be neat and organized.
