I have been a reliable and trustworthy caregiver and Certified Nursing Assistant II for 10 years. I have a lot of empathy and want to make a difference for someone who needs my help.

A little about me I am a student here in Jacksonville I got to miller motte college I am enrolled in medical assistant. I am also a military family (Wife) I have a daughter and I'm a hard worker. I love what I do as a caregiver/home aide. I have been doing it for 6 years on and off . I also have been a nursing assistant at hospital nursing homes etc for 3. I have experience in everything including dementia, limb removal, hospice care more.

I am so lucky and blessed to have found my true calling in the field of Elder Care! I believe that every individual deserves to live as happy, safe, and fulfilling a life as possible and care for my clients like they are my own family. I try to perform my caregiving tasks exactly the same way that the patient and their family prefer and take pride in my reliability and honesty.

Personality traits that I have that make me a great care giver are; Patience, compassionate, and Attentiveness. I love the bond that I create with each and every resident I work with. A personal achievement that I am proud of is getting myself enrolled and taking college courses.

I started caring for my grandmother. When she passed I went into childcare. I became a preschool teacher. I did that for 5 years. I moved to Ohio to care for family member. I am a very caring, compassionate person. I went to school and became a Certified Home Health Aide. 3 years later I went back to school and became a State Certified Nursing Assistant. I am now taking Medical Billing and Coding classes. I really love my professio, taking care of people.

My name is Kennedy. I am 21 years old. I love to care for people. I try to give love and help. I meal prep, cook, clean, do laundry, go to doctors appointments, help with the bathroom and baths. I also just like to sit and just be a companion because everyone needs someone. I enjoy seeing smiles an hearing stores about the patients life. I am a people pleaser all the way. I love to make people happy. I have a Great Aunt with dementia, a grandma with one kidney and a very weak cardiovascular system and both great grandparents who have had multiple strokes. All I want I is to help and bring smiles to people I care for.

I am a registered Nurse in my home country and graduated with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I become a care provider because I have a passion in taking care of my clients. I do my job with intellectual and emotional support. I enjoy my job as I am helping and giving life to others. I enjoy being with the children, adults and seniors. I am a proud RN in my home country. And I am proud that I am able to help and provide care in any emergency situation.

I began assisting with caregiving at the age of 15 when my Grandmother was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia.. After assisting my Mother with her care throughout my high school years I decided at the age of 18 I would register to enroll in the CNA course. I had no intentions of stopping there , I also enrolled in curriculum courses at the local college to take my prerequisites towards the RN program. After two years of college I was already a CNA and had completed my prerequisites for the Nursing program. I applied for the program and at this time it was very competitive . I didn't get accepted, but a friend advised me to to enroll in the Medical Assisting Program. This was successful; I completed the program and became a Medical Assistant in August 2007. I plan to re-apply for the RN program in the future. I have been in the Healthcare profession for 10yrs and I love it. Caregiving I believe has came to me as a God given passion and skill. My Grandmother who just celebrated her 82nd is being cared for by me and Mother. She is now bed bound but has acquired no skin breakdown, or any other issues that can stem from being restricted to the bed. I have had an impact on my patients throughout the years , almost as much as they have had on me, and I plan to continue helping individuals in the future.

Patience. Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. Being patient means that the person understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person he or she is caring for. By showing both empathy and compassion caregivers will let the person they are caring for know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help. The decision to choose others over yourself, to show mercy, to choose quality over quantity of life, and to send the message that "I am here for you," these things are the ultimate expression of love. It isn't easy, but it is commendable. You are part of something bigger than yourself. Celebrate it. Embrace it. Went back to college in Medical Field accomplished long term goals to short term goals.
