I love taking care of people. I was born in American Samoa, learned how to cook at an early age. Love cooking, cleaning, organizing and being around people. I love taking care of people and helping families with their day to day needs with their loved ones. I have over 20 years of experience working in the medical field with both seniors and developmentally challenged individuals in their homes and in care home settings. I have over 5 years of hospice experience and handle each individual with the same love and compassion as I would for one of my family members. Caring for others enriches my life and the ones I'm caring for. I look forward to the smiles everyday and I take pride in the little things that make them feel comfortable while being cared for by someone who's not family.

The best part about being a caregiver is getting to know the person you're taking care of and knowing that you're making their life better. I've had a great opportunity to work with clients with many different with many types of specific care needs, and I always handle them with delicate and attentive care . I'm an upbeat person that wants nothing but the best for the people I work for.

I love helping people, I'm a very laid back chill person to be around. I feel that adds comfortablility and calmness. I choose caregiving to be able to help people and not be taken advantage of but rather have people be thankful and grateful for the help I have to offer. First and foremost, I am highly healthcare competent with a lot of patience, attentiveness, dependable, trustworthy and compassion oriented. My call was to be a healthcare practitioner to help the needy and the poor in the society, but due to lack of school fee to join the Medical University in Africa. I did a Diploma course in Pharmacy and later found myself working in different specialties Wards, hence taking a course in Nursing Assistant in America. I enjoyed serving the old and the young people by seeing them from dependent to independent and also getting to see them go through a smooth aging process. My personal achievements in my practice as caregiver are countless but the most recent was an award given thrice between January, march and the latest Portrait from my employer as motivation for the job well done.

About Me

I'm a people person. I'm flexible and compatible with, I would say, just about every personality type. Just for the simple fact that I accept people for who they are and where they are. I like to say, essentially, I will meet them where they're at in life. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my desire to help people live as free and independent as possible. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love people and their company and I love hearing their stories of where they've been and what they've done. I think what I love most about being a caregiver is just the fact that I'm empowered to give a piece of myself to someone, to hopefully make their life better or more comfortable. I have a lot of achievements, but I think the one that I'm most proud of is the one where I had a client who would not allow anyone to draw their blood or do any kind of testing on them that was really necessary to make things better for them and get them a proper health care assessment. But, they were willing to put down their guard for me. Because of me they allowed work to be done and I can't tell you how thrilled I was that I would have that effect on somebody.

I have been caring for elderly, and people with disabilities since I was a little girl. My mom ran an adult family home, so I always had a bond with working with people.
