I love being a caregiver/CNA. I've been a CNA for over 25 years. It gives me alot of pleasure taking care of the elderly. I'm a very caring & compassionate person. The reason why I started becoming a caregiver was because my brother just got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I used to take care of him before he went into the nursing home. I'm very hard working & enjoy listening to my clients history, for example where they are from & what they used to do for a living. I would treat your loved one like I would my own with up most respect. I really enjoy getting to know my clients & I feel like they are part of my family. If I can make them smile & laugh then I know I'm doing my job because some of my clients don't have much family or friends & they get very lonely & depressed. My personal achievement is taking care of sick & elderly patients.

I became a caregiver to help others and to give them something to look forward to. When you're sick a simple smile means a lot. What I like most about caregiving is the smile or thank you I get from my patients. And knowing I helped that person feel better. My personal achievement I'm most proud of is my education in healthcare and compassion for others. I am a very giving person and a very honest person. I'm also a hard worker and willing to please. What makes me a great caregiver is my bubbly personality and my willingness work! I became a caregiver when I was 19 because I grew up watching my mother and listening to how proud the job made her. During my tours of duty I had the pleasure of working with a diverse population of people who taught me everything I know today. I learned to listen, be prudent, patient, empathetic and humble, and build trusting relationships. I didn't learn this from professors in college, instructors during clinical rotations, nor preceptors who oriented me to a new health care position. I learned from our seniors who struggle with dementia, our children who struggle with genetic disease syndrome, and our family, friends and neighbors who struggle with mental illness. The people in my care revealed to me without saying a word that the good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement that I was looking for was with me the whole time. Early in my career as a registered nurse I decided to focus on home care because it was depressing to be surrounded by sick people who had to wait for pain medication, and help with meals, bathing, grooming, and toileting, and I couldn't help all of them. Home care affords me the time to focus on my actual employer's business at hand. That is your loved one's needs and concerns. I have been a CNA since 2010 working in a variety of settings from nursing homes to hospitals to most recently private duty. I am currently attending Chatham University for nursing. I have been doing private duty work since 2015 and have professional references if needed. I have current background, pa state police clearance, drug test and professional liability insurance.
